Professional statement

Jacqueline Hermida is a licensed psychotherapist, clinical supervisor, and energy medicine specialist located on the South Shore of Long Island. She works in native traditional ways with individual adult women. Many of Jacqueline’s clients come in to address anxiety, life transitions, spiritual and existential crisis, stress management, and many unique exceptional human experiences.

Jacqueline is trained in Transpersonal and Humanistic Traditions, Psychoanalytic and Psychodynamic Traditions, and Indigenous, World, and Ecological Psychological Traditions. Jacqueline takes a whole-person psychological approach that works with the ego structure or personality, as in traditional psychotherapy, but also works with the beyond-ego structure or beyond the individual personality. In session, Jacqueline focuses on processing experiences, utilizes mindfulness to hold difficult thoughts and emotions, and indigenous wisdom as a teaching tool.

This approach supports clients to uncover the hidden treasures within each of their difficult experiences and teaches clients how to use these experiences as a catalyst for healing and transformation. Through this process of deep healing, clients begin to free themselves from historical conditioning and are able to create the life they want. Through this personal freedom, the integration of the body, mind, emotions, and spirit becomes possible.

Jacqueline's style is warm, empathetic, present, and authentic. When clients first start therapy, a therapeutic space and therapeutic relationship is created where clients feel safe, grounded, and ready to begin the journey.

Jacqueline received her LMHC from LIU and is currently completing her doctoral dissertation work at the California Institute of Integral Studies. She has worked at Psychiatric Hospitals and College Counseling and Wellness Centers. Outside of private practice, she lives fruitfully by connecting with her family tribe, to nature, the spiritual world, meditation, and yoga. Currently, she offers remote psychotherapy, clinical supervision, and energy medicine sessions.
