Professional statement

Jacqueline Tartell is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker currently providing teletherapy throughout New York state. She mainly works with young professionals and students in their 20s and 30s. They tend to be bright, conscientious, and thoughtful, but they struggle under the surface. Most of her clients come in for help with anxiety, upsetting memories, or an overall lack of fulfillment in life.

For some of her clients, there's a sense of being in "quarter life crisis;" they're not totally satisfied with a particular area of life (work, dating, self-esteem, etc.), and they're reassessing where they want to be. They may find it easiest to put their job or other people first, rather than acknowledging their own needs and wishes. But they've realized it's not working for them, and they're ready to do the hard work to create change.

Jacqueline believes it's important for clients to gain some concrete tools and skills to meet their goals, while also learning a lot about themselves over time. She takes an active, personalized approach, pulling from different treatment modalities (mainly CBT, ACT, EMDR, psychodynamic) to best meet the needs of each client. She collaborates with her clients to help them understand and change unwanted patterns of thoughts, emotions, and behaviors. She uses EMDR for treatment of trauma, which can come from any life event that was upsetting, stressful, or threatening.

Message to clients

I help Millennial and Gen Z clients to find their balance in this chaotic world, so that they can finally enjoy all they’re doing and working for—instead of letting anxiety, stress, and insecurities call the shots. When my clients first come into see me, they are doing many of the things that are supposed to lead to success and happiness. From the outside, it may look like they have it together. But on the inside, they feel defective and alone, like everyone else must know some secret to life that they don't. If you're feeling that way, I get how painful and exhausting it can be. I'd love to help you get to a better place.

I incorporate a few different types of therapy, as mentioned above. You may have no idea what any of those acronyms means, and that's okay! I offer a free, 15-minute consult call where you can ask any questions you may have.

One of the biggest predictors of success in therapy is the quality of the "therapeutic alliance;" that means feeling safe and comfortable with your therapist, and working well as a team. The best way to gauge compatibility with any therapist is to start talking, so reach out anytime! I'm excited to meet you.
