Jacqueline Tartell is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker based in NYC, serving both NY and FL via telehealth. She works with young professionals and students in their 20s and 30s. Her clients are bright, conscientious, and thoughtful, but they struggle under the surface. Most of her clients come in for help with anxiety, upsetting memories, or feeling unfulfilled in life.
For some of her clients, there's a sense of being in "quarter life crisis;" they're not totally satisfied with a particular area of life (work, dating, self-esteem, etc.), and they're reassessing where they want to be. They may find it easiest to put their job or other people first, rather than acknowledging their own needs and wishes. But they've realized it's not working for them, and they're ready to do the hard work to create change.
She also enjoys working with unconventional thinkers and neurodivergent folks, embracing and affirming what makes clients unique.
Jacqueline believes it's important for clients to gain some concrete tools and skills to meet their goals, while also learning a lot about themselves over time. She takes an active, personalized approach, pulling from different treatment modalities (mainly CBT, ACT, EMDR, psychodynamic) to best meet the needs of each client. She collaborates with her clients to help them understand and change unwanted patterns of thoughts, emotions, and behaviors. She uses EMDR for treatment of trauma, which can come from any life event that was upsetting, stressful, or threatening.
