Marriage and Family Therapist, MFT Master of Arts, MAShe/Her/Hers
Marriage and Family Therapist, MFT Master of Arts, MAJamie Hauglid is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist Associate located in Bellevue, WA. Jamie specializes in helping clients with their relationships, including the relationship they have with themselves. Many clients find themselves in session with Jamie after becoming overwhelmed by conflict with their partners, whether that’s due to infidelity, intimacy issues, or constant fighting. Jamie enjoys helping clients, particularly women, learn more about themselves in the context of relationships and dating. This could include boosting self-esteem, exploring attachment patterns, or figuring out what they’re looking for in a partner. Jamie also works with clients who are compulsively drawn to sex or have an unhealthy connection to sex.
Jamie is a relational therapist, which means that she focuses on the ways that clients interact with those around them. By incorporating attachment theory into her work with clients, clients reflect on their past relationships, especially their relationships with early caregivers. Often, these relationships can impact the ways they show up in their adult relationships. Jamie takes a trauma-informed approach to her work with clients, establishing therapy as a safe, non judgmental space. When she works with clients who have previously experienced trauma, she first builds a strong trust with them before they address their experiences. Jamie teaches clients how to set healthy boundaries with themselves and others, as well as celebrate their bodies and minds.
Jamie is passionate about working with diverse populations, including the LGBTQ community. She is a collaborative therapist who believes that clients are the experts in their own mental health. Her goal is to make clients feel heard and valued. She does this through empathetic listening and at times brings humor into the therapeutic space.
