Professional statement

Jamila Millette is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor originally from New Jersey, currently residing in the Sunshine State, Florida. She works with youth, young professionals and the young at heart. Most of the community that Jamila works with have struggled with stress (work-life imbalance), anxiety, feeling stuck, and spiritual struggles. Jamila is particularly passionate about serving young professional women who are the ones pouring everything out and have nothing left for themselves. She also has a certification in Yoga, teaches dance and infuses the expressive arts into her practice.

Jamila is an eclectic practitioner, she not only uses the arts but clinical theories, which uses methods to challenge current limiting beliefs and patterns; takes small, medium and large steps towards great change whether physically, mentally or spiritually. She uses a holistic movement towards greater health for those she serves. In session, clients will utilize movement, creative expressions, and classic talk therapy to move through various wounds and internal hurdles.

This creative approach has garnered great success for clients who really want change. Clients have shared that they feel anew, renewed, more connected to themselves, others and at times God. Jamila is dedicated to providing a relationship that is unique, warm, challenging, and deeply moving for those who enter into this movement. Outside of private practice Jamila volunteers with youth at local high schools. She also enjoys a good brunch (eating in general), singing karaoke, and dancing salsa y bachata.

If you are ready to start pouring back into yourself and placing the oxygen mask on you (maybe even for the first time), it is time to start your therapeutic journey now.
