Professional statement

Jañelle primarily works with artists, entertainers, writers, and anyone who identifies as a creative, who sacrifices their mental, emotional, and psychological wellbeing to create. When so much of their work depends on deeply experiencing emotions, they may find themselves depressed, feeling isolated or misunderstood, struggling to find inspiration, or drawn thin—like a painter working with frayed brushes.

Through Accelerated Experiential Dynamic Psychotherapy (AEDP) and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Jañelle works with clients to locate felt emotions in the body, communicate with different parts of the self, and revisit significant experiences from the past. She lets clients describe the context of their experiences without judging, and believes the therapeutic process is a collaborative effort. Indeed, the client is the expert on their own lived experience.

Jañelle works in tandem with clients to provide opportunities for growth and transformance. To get there, she fosters a warm, trustworthy environment and provides comprehensive, digestible tools. Her goal is for clients to feel secure in their strengths and comfortable challenging themselves so they can achieve their creative potential.

Message to clients

Whether you paint, act, play music, or make videos, creating art requires being in touch with your emotions. This comes with unique stressors, so you deserve a tailored space in therapy to work through life’s challenges.

A strong client-clinician relationship allows transformation to take place. That's why my primary goal is to fully see and know you. As a clinician, my personhood is my greatest tool, so I show up to every session as my full self. I encourage you to do the same because every part of your Self is valid, and worthy of being heard.

It takes great courage to reach out for support, so I'm glad you did. Let’s get some fresh brushes and start painting a new picture of the life you want to live.

Anxiety - Coping with excessive worry, nervousness, or stress; intense discomfort in social settings (social anxiety); sudden and intense feelings of panic (panic disorder)

Depression - Providing support and promoting healing of hopelessness, low motivation and energy, sadness, irritability, sleep disturbance, and loss of interest and pleasure in life

Loss, grief, and bereavement - Emotionally preparing for the anticipated passing of a loved one; managing feelings and reactions to a death or loss of significance; support during the process of healing and acceptance

Relationship issues - Understanding one’s wants and needs in relationships; exploring patterns of interaction, addressing concerns, and strengthening satisfaction in relationships and dating

Performance anxiety - Underperforming, due exclusively to anxiety

Sex and Sexuality - Addressing the medical, personal, psychological, and/or interpersonal factors affecting sexual satisfaction; helping clients communicate desires; educating individuals or couples on sexual anatomy and bodily functions during sexual activity; informing individuals and couples of various sexual behaviors, including, but not limited to, consent, kink, BDSM, and fantasy
