Licensed Professional Counselor, LPCShe/Her/Hers
Licensed Professional Counselor, LPCJasmine Austin is a Licensed Professional Counselor located in Old Hickory, TN. Jasmine specializes in helping clients who struggle with harsh self-criticism. Her clients often feel stuck in their self-loathing, whether that’s scolding themselves after an interaction with another person, judging themselves for their wants or desires, or struggling to see their own strengths. They have identified patterns in their lives that are no longer authentic and hold them back from feeling fulfilled or present in their day-to-day life. These patterns include perfectionism, a huge focus on productivity to the point of burnout, or codependency in relationships. Jasmine also helps clients who struggle with depression, PTSD, or addiction.
Jasmine’s approach to working with clients begins with helping them gain clarity about who they are and what they want out of life. Clients identify what feels like a genuine way of living for them, and reflect on what healing they need in their lives to make this way of life a reality. Jasmine teaches clients coping skills like breathwork or yoga, which can help them while they process through past traumas or painful memories. She also offers Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy, which is an evidence-based therapy modality that often helps survivors of trauma reduce symptoms like anxiety, panic attacks, or numbness. She tailors her treatment for each individual’s needs and goals, offering clients the chance to collaborate in planning.
Jasmine earned a Master’s degree from Trevecca Nazarene University. Her aim is to make sure that every client feels seen, heard, and respected throughout the therapy journey. She celebrates her clients’ courage to make big changes in the way that they go through life so they can prioritize their mental health.
