Jeanette Williams is a Systemic Psychotherapist Licensed in Marriage and Family Therapy with offices on the Upper West Side of Manhattan and in South Plainfield, NJ who specializes in anxiety, trauma, family issues, individual and couples counseling. She works with adolescents, adults, couples, and families. Many of the individuals she works with are navigating intergenerational trauma.
Jeanette draws from an eclectic systems framework while integrating elements of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Holistic Therapy, Contextual Therapy, and Narrative Therapy, which collectively promote intergenerational healing and reconciliation. She operates from a place of empowerment and change and identifies that we all inherently have the right to change, shift, and/or modify our story. Tennent’s of Contextual Therapy, her work is rooted in the belief of fairness, equality, morality, and balance. Her sessions are client-centered, ensuring that clients feel safe and comfortable before opening up about past experiences. In practice, Jeanette engages in conducting assessments to gauge where the individual, couple or family is and ultimately what they would like to shift to assess what problems are occurring before working with the client(s) to develop a treatment plan that takes into account clients’ needs and goals.
