Jeff Goodman is a Licensed Professional Counselor practicing out of Texas. He welcomes young adults and adults into his down-to-earth therapy sessions, supporting those who struggle with addiction, PTSD, sexual difficulties, abandonment issues, and more. Many of his clients find themselves highly anxious throughout the day, whether that’s when they’re alone or when they’re in a group of people. This might stem from trauma, neurodiversity, a mental health condition, or a pattern learned from previous experiences.
Jeff has a deep passion for neuroscience – the science of how brains work. He enjoys helping clients discover how their brains work and applying what’s known about the brain to conversations about what’s going on in their lives at that time. He practices Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) so that people gain insight into their core values and what’s most important to them. He also helps clients to adjust their thought patterns through a therapy approach called Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and for those who struggle with PTSD or anxiety, using an approach called Exposure and Response Prevention Therapy (ERPT).
Jeff earned a Master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling from Angelo State University. He’s previously worked in psychiatric hospital/prison and forensic settings as well as a sex rehabilitation program. His relaxed nature sets clients at immediate ease, and he enjoys playing the role of co-pilot as clients navigate through choppy waters to find a space of comfort, security, and joy.
