Jennifer Campoy is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who welcomes adults, adolescents, and families to her practice in Los Angeles, CA. After working in the field for several years, Jennifer wanted to understand people better – to have a deeper understanding of the psyche, of personality structure, and to help people make more lasting change. A few years ago, she began taking courses at LAISPS (Los Angeles Institute and Society for Psychoanalytic Studies). This led to her enrolling as a candidate for training to be a certified psychoanalyst. She began her studies in October 2018, and is currently in the process of studying the art & science of psychoanalysis, which involves coursework, infant observation, supervised control cases, and her own analysis.
People seeking therapy are often interested in understanding how their earlier needs for attention and understanding (for example) went unfulfilled, yet continues to impact their sense of self, their relationships, and even motivation and mood. Therapy with Jennifer can help deepen that understanding and allow people to have what is called a corrective emotional experience. Working with adolescents and families over several years, she appreciates and understands the significance of family roles, of how family life shapes who we are, and how we can balance acceptance of family influence with a process of individuation.
Warm, compassionate, and authentically curious, Jennifer looks forward to welcoming you to her office in Silverlake, and she is also available for remote sessions.
