Professional statement

Jennifer is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and has worked in the Chicagoland area for the past seven years with diverse client populations presenting with various challenges. Through her time as a social worker and therapist, she has witnessed the healing power of human connection and relationships, and this guides her clinical work.

Jennifer's clinical experience spans from working with individuals and families impacted by trauma, to reestablishing emotional and physical safety, to helping teens and adults with anxiety and depression. Her clinical practice is grounded in a trauma-focused, reflective lens with a high importance on building a relationship with each client individually. She strives to create a supportive environment while using gentle direction to help clients reflect on their past and how it interacts with their present functioning.

Jennifer completed her undergraduate and graduate studies at the University of Illinois Urbana Champaign, earning a BSW and MSW, respectively. Throughout her career, she has worked in the child welfare system, schools, and private practice. Jennifer has training in Child Parent Psychotherapy (CPP), trauma-based therapies, and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT).

Message to clients

I strive to provide a supportive environment where clients can process current life events, transitions, and past functioning that may be impacting present day. I place a high importance on helping clients process their emotional experience and how that connects to our thoughts and behaviors. I encourage clients to be transparent with me about how they view and feel about our time together in hopes of creating an individualized space. My hope for every client who meets with me is that they feel heard and seen and, at times, gently pushed to consider alternatives to their current functioning.
