Professional statement

Jennifer Pelletier is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and life coach in New York who welcomes clients between the ages of 18 and over to her private practice.

Over the fifteen years of building her career, Jennifer recognizes that all clients are unique, have their own stories to tell, and appreciate a collaborative effort when working in therapy. Her clients come to her when struggling with a multitude of life’s challenges; Life Transitions, Career Challenges, Family Conflict, Relational Issues, Trauma History, Depression, Anxiety and Substance Abuse.

Jennifer uses several evidenced based practice theories which she tailors specifically to meet her clients needs. Solution Focused Therapy, is a straight forward, result-driven approach to help clients become “unstuck”. Another is Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, where clients learn to identify unhealthy thought patterns. As a result, her clients develop a sense of empowerment allowing them to grow and succeed in all areas of their lives.

In addition to working with individuals, Jennifer has worked with couples, helping them to reconnect and improve upon communication. She found her passion providing family therapy and has helped many adolescents navigate the challenges of college prep and family separation.

Jennifer’s style is one of empathy, while providing a non judgmental environment where clients feel safe to express themselves. She believes that the key to a successful intervention starts from a therapeutic relationship built on trust and open communication.

Jennifer achieved her Masters in Social work at Fordham University. She then worked in a diverse variety of settings; working with families and children in crisis, and homeless single mothers transitioning out of the shelter system. Today her practice continues to be one that recognizes self awareness and cultural competency.
