Licensed Clinical Social Worker, LCSWJennifer Ann Rendleman is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker located in Wilmington, NC. She enjoys working with children and families to grow bonds and promote healthy behaviors. Many of the families that she works with struggle with behavior management, which is often a result of ADHD, anxiety, or trauma. Many of her clients have issues at school, with other kids, or with their siblings. Jennifer helps these kids and adolescents to learn how to better manage their emotions and feel more confident in themselves.
Jennifer takes a holistic, integrative approach to therapy. She practices Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) to teach clients how to undo cognitive distortions and harmful thinking patterns. Clients also learn various techniques for calming down, grounding themselves, or managing distress. Jennifer also helps clients, including families, to set goals for themselves. She then breaks those goals into achievable, realistic steps so there’s a clear path forward. Her goal is to reduce negative self-talk and to decrease anxiety.
Jennifer earned a Master’s degree in Social Work. She works from a strengths-based perspective, as she encourages clients to notice and appreciate their own unique strengths as they go through their daily lives. She often partners with physicians and other healthcare teams to provide wraparound care for her clients.
