Jennifer Rick LICSW is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker at Blossom Health, a completely virtual practice designed specifically for college and graduate students. Jen's therapeutic approach is grounded in cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), and she is also experienced in social skills training with young adults. Prior to working at Blossom Health, Jennifer received specialized training in assessment and treatment of neurodevelopmental disorders. She has also worked with diverse populations in community mental health settings and school-based mental health programs. She received her BA from the University of Pennsylvania and her MSW from New York University.
College & graduate student mental health - Specialized strategies for common issues of young adulthood, including school and career stressors, support around healthy relationships, existential concerns, drug or alcohol issues, eating disorders, and anxiety and/or depression.
ADHD - Skill-building and support around organizational challenges, distracted attention, procrastination; building and maintaining healthy routines and structure
Autism spectrum disorder - Support understanding the diagnosis and related challenges and strengths; skill-building in areas of daily routine, transitions, coping with overwhelming sensory experiences, social skills, and emotion identification and regulation
Anxiety - Coping with excessive worry, nervousness, or stress; intense discomfort in social settings (social anxiety); sudden and intense feelings of panic (panic disorder)
Social anxiety - Helping clients increase confidence and ability to interact with others amidst fear of being judged, worry about embarrassment, or concern about offending others
Perfectionism - Coping with feelings of anxiety, stress, self-criticism, and procrastination; addressing unrealistic expectations of one’s self and negatively comparing self to others
