Professional statement

Jesse is a therapist based in Manhattan. Jesse has extensive knowledge of rehabilitation counseling and has worked with clients with disabilities to gain, advance, and retain their careers. Though his most recent work was counseling adults and adolescents around their substance use, he is skilled in working with clients across the lifespan and worked as an early childhood educator. Within the substance use field, he counseled clients around anxiety disorders, depression, sex and relationship issues, career obstacles, anger management, self-esteem issues/assertiveness, substance use, and trauma.

Jesse believes in empowering clients using action-orientated approaches such as Rogerian therapy, Motivational Interviewing, and CBT interventions. In order to create a space free of self-judgment, Jesse facilitates meaningful conversations around challenging stigmas and utilizing self-awareness tools.

Due to COVID-19, Jesse is only accepting clients for virtual sessions.

Message to clients

Are you noticing any unhelpful patterns or themes from your past? Do people seem to not understand what you really mean when you express yourself? Do you feel a lack of respect for yourself or unsure how to advocate for respect from others? Do you struggle with self-control?

Dealing with any of these feelings, behaviors, and patterns can be especially difficult when managing them alone. Unfortunately, they are incredibly common. However, enduring these things can build strength and by considering a different perspective on these thoughts and actions, it can make all the difference with the motivation and the willingness to be uncomfortable in a safe place to facilitate healing.

I strongly believe that all people are capable to bring about positive change in their lives. My practice aims to establish a foundation based on trust and understanding so we can collaboratively build a suitable space to face challenges while maintaining a sharp distinction between feelings, thoughts, actions, and the roles that they may fill. With hard work, this space will allow us to promote the development of sustainable resilience. I’m ready to join your team and become an ally in the fight for a better quality of life!
