Dr. Jessica Borushok {she/her} is a clinical and health psychologist in Los Angeles, CA who works with adults struggling with anxiety, panic attacks, insomnia, life transitions, and health concerns.

As an expert in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dr. Jessica not only helps clients with anxiety, burnout, stress, and health concerns, but also trains other mental health professionals as a Peer Reviewed ACT Trainer and co-author of several books for therapists. Her focus on bringing together evidence-based therapies, such as ACT, CBT, mindfulness, and habit change, means that she's not only good at what she does, but she does what works.

Dr. Jessica emphasizes teaching clients (and other therapists) a new approach to their mind through understanding how and why our mind does the frustrating, seemingly irrational things it does, identifying the stuck patterns we all get caught in, and developing skills to pivot toward what matters to you instead of feeling stuck or controlled by your thoughts, feelings, or physical sensations.

Therapy with Dr. Jessica is a collaborate approach that puts her in the seat as the mental health expert and you in the position of expert on your own life. Together, she ensures you have the understanding, support, skills/tools, and framework to get unstuck and start enjoying life again.

Through video sessions, clients have the opportunity to squeeze in a session during their lunch break, at home in their sweatpants after work, or during that blissful period where their kids are down for their nap, without worrying about commuting, parking, and setting aside large chunks of time in their schedule.

Therapy is a safe space to be heard, to gain insight into what isn't working anymore, and to find a new way forward towards the life you've always wanted. You don't have to wait until those 'what if' thoughts, overwhelming feelings, or panicky sensations go away in order to take steps towards taking back control over your life.

I can help you panic less, sleep more, and find joy no matter the stressors or limitations in your life.

I'm a present-focused, action-oriented therapist. That means I don't spend sessions digging through your past, doing the same exact treatment for everyone, or only talking about your current situation without any means for coping with or changing it. Sometimes therapy may involve talking about uncomfortable topics or facing painful thoughts or feelings, but I'll be there guiding you through the entire time. And since this is a collaborative process, I'm always open to feedback, but strive to never make you do the emotional labor of educating me about your background. Therapy with me is generally brief and I usually work with clients anywhere from 6-16 sessions depending on their concerns.


Anxiety - Coping with excessive worry, nervousness, panic, or stress; Develop an understanding of why your mind reacts this way; Explore and break patterns of avoidance or reacting that aren't serving you; Learn new ways to respond to your anxiety. Whether your anxiety is primarily racing thoughts, overwhelming feelings, or intense physical sensations. I combine a type of CBT called Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) with other evidence based treatments for anxiety.

Insomnia & sleep issues - Combining CBT-I and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) to help you fall asleep faster and stay asleep. Exploring ways to improve sleep patterns, develop healthy sleep hygiene, master relaxation techniques, manage stressors, reduce worrying, and address insomnia.

Stress management - Coping skills for work and life stressors; Help understanding patterns that aren't serving you and how to break them. Improve comfort with uncertainty and focus on what's within your control.

Binge eating disorder - Evidence-based treatment for reducing binges; Supportive environment for exploring factors that contribute to binge eating (stress, anxiety, trauma, body image, boredom); Develop new coping skills to better respond to stressful situations; Learn strategies for improved control over eating habits.

Physical wellness - Taking steps towards living a healthy lifestyle despite chronic health conditions or unsupportive environment. Improving the quality of one's life through exploring and expanding healthy and balanced eating, sleeping, and exercise routines; strengthening self-care and stress management skills.

Adjustment difficulties & disorders - A framework and skills for coping with change, uncertainty, and feeling out of control. Support around adapting to new and/or challenging life circumstances; skill-building for improved stress management and reduction of anxiety.
