Jessica holds a Master’s Degree in Marriage and Family Therapy. Although her title implies that she only works with couples and families, her focus is on individuals, particularly women walking through seasons of anxiety, stress, or loss. Jessica has a heart for helping the “worried well”. She is drawn to those who appear to have it all together on the outside yet they feel overwhelmed and tired. Jessica longs to ensure her clients feel known as they navigate the feelings that accompany loss and transition.
Jessica is a Person-Centered therapist who believes that client’s know themselves best. Her approach is collaborative and there is an eager expectation that clients are an active participant in each session. With that said, she is an intentionally present guide and is there to help clients navigate their personal journey of healing. She lets you lead but is there to offer insight, validation, and perspective.
Jessica also utilizes Mindfulness Practices to help clients become more acquainted with themselves and how their mind and body work together. It’s all too common for individuals to walk around feeling disconnected from themselves and others. Jessica is attuned and sensitive to your responses in sessions. She provides education to equip you with skills to manage emotional distress as it arises.
She relies on Attachment Based Theories to help clients recreate emotional experiences following painful feelings of rejection and abandonment from loved ones. Jessica believes that many of our wounds stem from relationships, therefore, she strives to have a positive working environment in which clients receive unconditional positive support. Through her years of practice, this is the foundational piece that she returns to- the relationship. Her commitment is to meet you where you are at, each and every session, so that you feel seen and cared for.
