Professional statement

Jessica Slicer is a clinical social worker, therapist, Somatic Experiencing Practitioner, EMDR provider and Trauma Center Trauma Sensitive Yoga Facilitator in Boston, Massachusetts. She specializes in working with the nervous system to restore the mind-body connection.

I work with adults and teens, specializing in the treatment of trauma, anxiety, and relationship issues as well as a general sense of feeling "stuck" in life. Jessica also provides a collaborative healing space for those who feel the weight of the world through ongoing crises. Jessica takes an anti-oppressive, intersectional, integrative, and human-centered approach and acknowledges current, past and generational factors affecting your life. Your work together will focus on the mind-body connection and evidence-based methods. Sessions offer a space to reprocess traumatic experiences, express emotions, talk through difficult situations, learn skills, and foster a sense of safety in your body to facilitate healing.

Jessica is trained in Somatic Experiencing and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) which she uses to support her clients in overcoming adverse life experiences and finding a path forward.

Her in-person office is located in Maverick Square in East Boston, and she also offers remote appointments via telehealth for those throughout Massachusetts, Connecticut and Maine.

Message to clients

Hi! I am so glad you are here. Does this sound like you?

You take care of everyone else but never make space for yourself… because you’re totally fine.

You push others away and don’t even have the energy to respond to your texts.

You always seem to be waiting for the other shoe to drop, even when things are going well.

You recognize you have been through a lot and haven’t really been taking the best care of yourself.

You want more than traditional talk therapy. Maybe it doesn’t seem like your thing or it no longer feels useful.

Somatic therapy can help you rebuild your mind-body connection to promote emotional and physical healing. It integrates traditional talk therapy with physical techniques such as body awareness, breathing exercises, movement, and touch. It allows space for your body to move through and heal from stressful life events, whether you are new to therapy or feel “all talked out.” Your body has the inherent wisdom to heal, and I am there to support and guide you through it.
