Jessie Butler is a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor, providing individual therapy to adults that is rooted in non-judgmental positive regard. With every client, she attempts to align with the individual through a supportive, compassionate, unbiased lens. Jessie utilizes blended therapeutic modalities from Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Mindfulness-based interventions, tailoring the baseline of these interventions to support the unique individual in front of her. Jessie has spent most of her career as a therapist working alongside the Veteran population experiencing the co-occurrence of mental health challenges and substance misuse. In her career, she has gained specific trainings in the therapeutic modalities mentioned above and found a passion for helping those with significant trauma experiences find the strength, resiliency and safety inherently present in each individual person.
In addition to working alongside the Veteran population and those with a co-occurrence of trauma with substance misuse, Jessie has additional expertise in supporting those struggling with grief and loss. This can include the grief in regards to the death of a loved one, in addition to the grief often experienced in response to the loss of identity, employment, life direction, relationships, or during life transitions. She has specific experience working alongside the older adult population who are experiencing developmental challenges associated with later adulthood- such as coping with health issues, grappling with mortality, adjusting to retirement, challenges associated with caretaking for parents, and navigating changes in relationships with others.
Jessie provides therapy in person for those in the Asheville, North Carolina area, as well as telehealth therapy for anyone in the state of North Carolina. She is credentialed as a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor, Licensed Clinical Addictions Specialist, and National Certified Counselor. She offers various session times as an attempt to meet the scheduling needs of clients.
