Professional statement

Jill specializes in supporting adults in self-discovery, coping with stress, and connecting with inner resources. Her approach is collaborative and focused on creating a warm and trusting space in which clients can explore their relationships to themselves and their lives. The hope is that clients feel connected and safe to learn and try out new ways of being. Therapy is a gradual process that flourishes with patience and commitment.

While she regularly works with people that reflect diverse backgrounds and goals, Jill's lived experience informs her interests and motivations. She identities as a transracial international adoptee and enjoys supporting other adoptees in navigating identity and family. A history of loss also led Jill to pursue specialized training in palliative care, which focuses on providing whole-person care to the seriously ill and their families. While these interests and experiences are highly specific, what Jill has gained through exploring them translates broadly to her work.

Message to clients

Life is challenging. Our human hearts and minds can be messy. Our world is beautiful yet also heartbreaking. We may face difficult circumstances that make it hard to thrive. Through no fault of our own, we may never have learned how to steady ourselves. It makes sense that we need support.

My goal is to create a warm and open space for you to explore your relationship with yourself and your life. My approach is grounded in curiosity, compassion, and a belief in your ability to grow and heal. I will support you in building awareness of your feelings and patterns, and we will work together to practice new skills to cope with change and challenge. Ideally our work together over time allows you to feel more spacious, connected, and resilient.

Intersectional identity and socio-historical factors impact experience and wellbeing, and I aim to be as responsive as possible. You are welcome here, and I look forward to meeting you.
