Joan made a career switch to grief counseling after 15 years in the fields of education and non-profit management. Joan lives in Wheat Ridge with her husband, three sweet kids, and two adorable dogs.

Message to clients

A death or other significant loss can shake us to our core. It can rob us of our sense of joy and security, our purpose in life, our connection to others, and our confidence that we can move forward in life. When we grieve, we experience pain, fear, anger, guilt, and regret. We may experience whiplash between feeling like we are "ok" and feeling like we cannot take another step forward, and we may wonder if we are "going crazy." These grief experiences are normal, but that does not make them easy.

I offer a safe space for you to express your emotions, explore painful and frightening questions, and understand your unique grief journey. I can help you pick up the pieces and find a way forward. Grief can be a very isolating and lonely experience, and even those closest to you might not be able to understand what you are going through. I will honor your loss, bear witness to your experience, and offer a helping hand on the road ahead.
