Joanna has experience from many years of higher level of care and crisis management. During her education, she worked with women and their children to help them overcome the trauma and struggles of physical, mental and sexual abuse. She has counseled teens and their families struggling with risky behaviors, suicidal thoughts and traumatic events in Partial Hospitalization (PHP), Intensive Outpatient (IOP) and outpatient levels of care. Today, Joanna continues to help others who are struggling with childhood, complex traumas, risky behaviors, suicidal thoughts, self harming behaviors. She is trained and certified in DBT and trauma. Joanna has a high school girl DBT group throughout the year and a sexual assault survivor group.
Joanna provides a safe environment for her clients to explore their feelings, thoughts and behaviors without fear of judgment or shame. A client is free to be vulnerable and learn skills and techniques to help them live their lives to the fullest.
Joanna's office is conveniently located in Allen, Texas off highway 75. She is taking in person or virtual sessions to make the process of therapy convenient for all people. Joanna sees children 10 years and up, teens, young and older adults. Various groups throughout the year as well.
