Jody Kemmerer is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with an office in Tribeca, Manhattan. With nearly two decades of intensive training and clinical experience, she is an expert in Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) and Accelerated Experiential Dynamic Psychotherapy (AEDP). Through these approaches, she helps individuals manage difficult emotions and uncover their innate resilience. She specializes in supporting individuals with trauma, borderline personality disorder, anxiety, and depression.

I am here to help you develop a clearer and kinder relationship with yourself. I use simple, interactive approaches to help build your strengths and activating your wise mind. I bring to our work expertise in how to effectively manage anxiety, depression and other painful emotions. We work together to attain the change you desire. My 17 years experience as a practitioner of meditation, has given me a compassionate presence and deep understanding of what often blocks us from accessing our talents and resilience. I am firm believer in everyone's innate capacity to heal.


Emotion regulation - Learning how to identify, express, and manage feelings in safe, in-control ways

Trauma - Coping and healing after threatening or scary events, such as witnessing accidents or experiencing sexual, verbal, emotional, or physical abuse

Depression - Providing support and promoting healing through hopelessness, low motivation and energy, sadness, irritability, sleep disturbance, and loss of interest and pleasure in life

Anxiety - Coping with excessive worry, nervousness, or stress; intense discomfort in social settings (social anxiety); sudden and intense feelings of panic (panic disorder)

Post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) - Healing painful experiences and memories from the past

Borderline personality disorder - Support reducing emotional suffering and addressing relationship challenges

Attachment issues - Challenges with mood, behavior, and social relationships arising from failure to form normal attachment to primary caregiver in early childhood

Mindfulness - Increasing awareness, being present, identifying feelings, learning meditative tools
