Professional statement

Joelle is a therapist based in New York City with expertise in addressing relationship and family trauma, anxiety, depression, autism/ADHD, sexual/gender identity, relationship concerns, and insomnia in both adult and adolescent populations.

Joelle believes in making therapy a collaborative process. She therefore encourages feedback either during or after sessions, letting her know what is/isn't working for you. She understands that immediately opening up to a complete stranger can feel daunting, so she encourage you to speak at your own pace and in accordance with your comfort level. Joelle sees clients on a weekly basis, as this frequency allows for the sense of continuity that is necessary for therapy to work.

Message to clients

Hello and nice to "meet” you! I specialize in helping clients with ADHD, insomnia, trauma, and relationship struggles.

I know that life can be difficult to navigate at times, and I'm here to hopefully make that process feel more manageable. My approach involves helping you develop a greater awareness of yourself so that you can make decisions that feel healthy and right for you. I believe that emotions are there to help us understand ourselves better. I therefore try to explore what they might be saying. More than anything else, I strive to create an environment that is safe, open, and nonjudgemental.
