Joelle is a mental health counselor based in New York City. She is a first generation Eastern European Jewish clinician. She has experience in working with trauma, anxiety, depression, autism/ADHD, sexual/gender identity, and insomnia in both adult and adolescent populations. She encourages her clients to speak at their own pace, in accordance with their comfort level, to ensure them a warm and nonjudgmental space to express themselves. Her main goal for her clients is to have them walk away from sessions feeling that they have developed greater awareness of how to make the healthy and right decisions for themselves and thus the power over their own life and happiness.
Joelle has an eclectic approach in which she likes to shift her therapy style to fit her client's needs. She typically uses modalities such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Existential Therapy, and Solution Focused Therapy. She also offers CBT-I for those looking to treat insomnia.
