Johanna Kelly was trained in a "System's" approach to therapy. None of us live in a bubble and to a large degree, we are all affected by the relationships we have in our life (intimate, work, community, familial). When Johanna is working with clients in therapy,, she looks at the systems her clients are involved in. Johanna also believes that the individual issues one presents with are quite valuable and relevant. She examines the interconnectedness between your individual issues and the relationships you are involved in. Johanna helps her clients discover the quality and healthy aspects of a relationship while at the same time, examines where clients are "stuck." We all have the possibilities of turning stale relationships into revived and passionate ones. And we all have the desire to turn difficult parent-child relationships into extraordinary ones. This is part of the work Johanna does with her clients
The clientele Johanna works with are typically individuals/couples who are "stuck" in some transition part of their life. In addition, we are all living in an extremely stressful, overstimulated and chaotic world. Johanna sees clients who are seeking peace, serenity, closure (at times) and the ability to make meaningful movements on their life's journey. Johanna works with individuals from teens to young adults, to middle age adults to those who are now enjoying "Golden Years."
Johanna strives to establish rapport and trust and comfortability from the very first session. Most clients leave her first session feeling heard, validated, comforted and refreshed
with a new perspective.
Johanna's approach is direct, interactive and non-judgmental. Compassion, empathy and accountability for her clients are her strong suit.
