Jolene McVean is a Licensed Professional Counselor in Grand Prairie, TX. Jolene is passionate about empowering men and women, specializing in women ages 18-60, to win in life. She helps those going through major life transitions or struggling with life, work or relationship stress, as well as those who would like to grow beyond where they are now. Many of Jolene’s clients come to sessions searching for inner peace, a better understanding of who they are, guidance on working through grief or anger, or to feel more emotionally comfortable in everyday life.
In a session, Jolene creates a non-judgemental atmosphere for her clients to open up and talk about their thoughts, feelings, and actions. Jolene helps clients identify healthier options in their lives, including in relating to other people, by offering education on coping techniques and emotional regulation. Her approach incorporates the mind, body, and spirit. She is open to exploring alternative treatment methods to medication for those desiring to do so. She is also able to effectively incorporate faith into the discussion to help Christians wanting to honor their beliefs in the change process.
Jolene earned her Master's degree in Counseling from the University of North Texas, following degrees in practical theology and psychology. She has experience working with adults and adolescents in groups, as individuals and as part of a couple or family in a variety of settings, including over 10 years in some type of private practice. Her dedication to helping her clients feel more fulfilled in their lives shows through each session, where she offers an empathetic ear while also encouraging clients to write out - and work towards - their mental health goals.
Clients are welcome to engage in therapy in-person, remotely, or a combination of the two.
