Licensed Mental Health Counselor, LMHCHe/Him/His
Licensed Mental Health Counselor, LMHCJoseph Curnow is a licensed mental health counselor committed to empowering clients to gain knowledge, skills, and resiliency to contribute towards mental health recovery. Many of his clients have found great success in their personal, career, and academic lives but sometimes have struggles that hold them back from their desired personal progress. Joseph is sensitive to clients facing moments of transition, when life becomes unbalanced, and symptoms of anxiety, depression, self-doubt, and fear can grow.
Joseph’s approach is rooted in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, an evidenced-based approach that focuses on empowering clients with tools to understand the connection between thoughts, feelings, and actions and how this can impact them in small or large ways. Joseph works to help clients understand how their mind and body are connected, so they can implement necessary changes to contribute to recovery, problem solve with new and creative methods, and use skills to bring calmness and increase healthy responses instead of reactions in the face of adversity.
Joseph’s first task in starting with new clients is that they feel heard, validated, and know they are the agent of change in the therapeutic process. As a seasoned telehealth provider, he offers the convenience and comfort of remote sessions to help incorporate therapy as an appointment that clients can have that you look forward to.
