Joe focuses on providing individual therapy to individuals ages eighteen and up. He practices a wide range of therapeutic approaches and is willing to help you with any sort of problem to better suit your needs. Joe has extensive experience working with young adults, LGBTQ+ individuals, individuals with cooccurring disorders such as substance use, older adults, and previously ran men's trauma group.
Joe's therapy approach is a strengths based approach designed to meet you where you are at to increase effectiveness. Modalities include cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavioral therapy, motivational interviewing, and mindfulness. Joe is flexible when it comes to therapeutic goals, he can provide accountability if desired, or can take things slow to keep progress manageable.
Joe started his social work journey in Lansing where he interned at the Personal Protection Order office in the Lansing courthouse. Here he helped victims of abuse find resources and stay safe from their abusers. After this, he worked within the community through Michigan State University's Adolescent Diversion Project as a mentor for at-risk youth. After graduation he worked at St. Vincent Catholic Charities as a youth advocate working with teenagers in their orphanage. Finally, Joe worked at CNS Healthcare as a case manager before moving into therapy.
Joe is currently available to meet in person at Prime Counseling Services in Plymouth, MI. He is also available to meet for telehealth sessions from anywhere in the state of Michigan or Indiana.
