Licensed Mental Health Counselor, LMHCHe/Him/His
Licensed Mental Health Counselor, LMHCJoshua Silnik is a licensed psychotherapist treating the New York City area. Joshua has experience helping those who struggle with feeling worried, sad, angry or even those who are not sure how to label what they are feeling but do not feel good. He specializes in helping clients who struggle to form and keep relationships. Many of his clients feel alone and empty inside and search for connections with others but never feel fulfilled enough by them.
Joshua uses a two prong approach to therapy where clients are given tools to manage their symptoms while exploring the underlining causes. Joshua understands that it can take time to resolve a client's struggles so he provides them with ways to address harmful behaviors and thoughts in order to manage and decrease symptoms. In addition to tools, clients will also be able to work through the root of their symptoms while feeling empowered in order for these symptoms to not return.
Joshua sees a range of adults from college students and young professionals to those who are middle age and older. He understands how choosing a therapist can be difficult when there are so many options but what makes him different is how he is goal oriented, collaborative, and almost conversational in sessions so clients do not feel like they are speaking without getting any useful input.
Joshua is only doing therapy sessions remotely but has flexible hours.
