Dr. Joshua Tal is a clinical psychologist in New York City who specializes in insomnia and other sleep disorders, addiction and substance use concerns, as well as life transitions for older adults.
Dr. Tal’s approach is rooted in equal parts skills-based work and client-centered compassion. When working with clients who are experiencing insomnia, he utilizes Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Insomnia (CBT-I), a highly-effective field in which he’s done extensive research. Such advanced training allows him to work with clients to identify what stressors and situations might be contributing towards sleep concerns, and create customized plans to return to restful, restorative sleep.
