Licensed Master Social Worker, LMSW Practice: Therapy Insights PracticeJulia Mooney is a Licensed Master Social Worker and a graduate of New York University. As a psychotherapist, Julia creates space for patients to explore troubling patters of thought, feeling, and behavior, and to overcome the inertia that keeps them from living a full, satisfying life.
Using a psychodynamic lens, she works with patients to examine memories, dreams, and the dynamics of early relationships that reveal important, often unconscious insights into themselves. Julia also draws on her training as a life coach to help patients see self-defeating blocks in their behavior and identify strengths to facilitate authentic expression.
Her goal is to enable patients to connect joyfully with themselves, with others, and with the world at large. Julia works with individual and couples of all ages and backgrounds, including those from the LGBTQ+ community.
Her areas of expertise include anxiety, depression, life transitions, identity exploration, and relationship challenges. Prior to her work as a therapist, Julia spent over a decade working in the field of K-8 education.
