Professional statement

Julie Safranski is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker near the Lincoln Square neighborhood in Chicago, IL who specializes in working with children, adolescents, and adults with anxiety. She especially enjoys working with adults who consider themselves perfectionists and people-pleasers and/or those with generalized anxiety. She also has extensive experience working with women who are pregnant, new to motherhood, or have a child with special needs.

Julie utilizes Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to help her clients develop new tools to manage their symptoms and change their thought patterns. She helps them learn how to quiet their inner critic and develop healthy boundaries with the people in their lives. Her sessions are goal-oriented and client-centered. When working with children, Julie implements play therapy to help them learn how to express and regulate their emotions.

Julie has the unique ability to help her clients utilize their strengths to overcome challenges and live the life they want. Prior to starting her private practice, she worked in public and private schools, inpatient psychiatry, and community-based agencies serving a wide range of diverse adult and child populations. She looks forward to meeting you.
