Professional statement

Justina Janda is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor located in Asheville, NC. Justina brings a holistic perspective to the mental health journeys of individuals who suffer from overwhelming stress, anxiety, or depression. Often, their symptoms come after experiencing a traumatic event, leaving them emotionally exhausted or disconnected. Justina also helps clients who feel lost or confused, as well as those who are looking for a greater sense of peace, joy, and balance in their lives.

Justina encourages clients to pay attention to growth in all areas of life, including the mind, body, and spirit. She looks at clients as whole people, and her style is non judgmental and compassionate. Clients identify and affirm their innate strengths, whether that’s a personality trait, resilience through a previous difficult situation, or their healthy relationships. Building on these strengths, clients learn how to be compassionate with themselves and avoid the self-criticism or comparison to others that often leads to low mood or low self-esteem. Justina creates a safe space where clients feel comfortable opening up about how they’re feeling, what they’re thinking, and what direction they want to go in life.

Justina earned a Master’s degree from Appalachian State University. She is a member of the National Board for Certified Counselors and the American Counseling Association. She teaches clients techniques to calm themselves down both physically and emotionally, allowing more room for self-exploration and the processing of stress or discomfort.
