Dr. K. Danise Mok is a licensed Psychologist with a private practice virtually seeing clients in Washington, D.C, Virginia, and 36 other Psypact states. Dr. Mok takes a humanistic approach to holistically understand the client’s background, identities, strengths, growth areas, interpersonal relationships, goals, values, etc. They strive to create a culturally sensitive, inclusive, and affirming space to facilitate growth and insights.

Dr. Mok specializes in the following areas, including trauma treatment and empowerment, mood disorders, identity exploration and integration, and working with folx from marginalized communities, including but not limited to LGBTQIA+, BIPOC, first-generation/low-income background, immigrants/international background, faith crisis/transition, chronic health condition/pain, political/collective trauma, and neurodiversity (over-excitability, autism, ADHD, giftedness, and twice-exceptional).

Rooting their work in decolonizing psychology and social justice, Dr. Mok’s primary therapy approach integrates interpersonal, feminist, compassion-focused, psychodynamic, and acceptance and commitment (ACT) therapies. Their presence in therapy is warm and caring, with a dash of dark sense of humor. They are collaborative and appreciate active feedback in the therapeutic process.
