Professional statement

Dr. Kamala Genece is a Licensed Psychologist at Wholeview Wellness in Midtown, New York specializing in substance abuse and trauma. She has over a decade of experience working with individuals in all stages of recovery and has a deep understanding of the complexities of both addiction and trauma.

Using a combination of Motivational Interviewing and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dr. Genece focuses on helping her clients develop healthier coping strategies and gain a deeper understanding of their relationship with alcohol or substances. When working with clients who have experienced trauma, she helps them explore how their worldview has changed and what triggers negative feelings. She then uses a mix of mindfulness, grounding strategies, and relationship skills to help them reshape triggering thoughts.

Dr. Genece is highly sensitive and attuned to her clients are facing and helps them work through challenges at their pace. She focuses on giving them the tools they need to have a healthy and full life. Her office at Wholeview Wellness is located a short walk from Grand Central.
