Karen Bisignano is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker located in Savannah, GA. Karen takes a multi-modality approach to helping clients who struggle to get through daily life. Often, Karen’s clients suffer from anxiety, depression, or another mood disorder. These mental health conditions make it difficult to feel motivated at work, to connect with others, and to find fulfillment with everyday routines. Karen is passionate about working with single mothers, those with chronic illnesses, and the LGBT community.
Karen provides clients with the tools they need to grow their self-awareness and to practice effective self-care. By using a Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) approach as well as Existential Psychotherapy, Karen teaches clients how to identify negative thought patterns, including cognitive distortions. These cognitive distortions may interfere with a positive mood or healthy behaviors. Karen also encourages clients to set goals for their mental health and focuses each session towards reaching those goals.
Karen earned a Master’s degree in Social Work from Fordham University. She creates a compassionate atmosphere in session that does not place any pressure on the client yet gives them the empowerment they need to take control of their lives.
