Karen Bommentre is a licensed therapist supporting those facing distress from sources like anxiety, depression, pressure at work, grief, or life changes. Many of Karen’s clients find that their past experiences, including from their childhood, hold them back from emotional well-being in the present. Other clients face intense feelings of worthlessness and shame, which can negatively impact their relationships, including the relationship they have with themselves.
Karen’s style is warm, and she provides clients with a nonjudgmental space to talk about what’s on their minds. Through empathetic listening, Karen offers clients a chance to pause their week and to process through any challenges they’re currently facing. She takes clients through Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), a therapy approach rooted in exploring and affirming core values. Clients also benefit from mindfulness and somatic practices, strengthening the mind-body connection and finding ways to live nonjudgmentally in the present. Clients learn to listen to their bodies and unwind any stress or trauma as they work through distress or difficult emotions.
Karen earned a Master’s degree in Counseling and is now pursuing a PhD in Psychology with a focus on Somatic Psychology. She believes everyone who begins therapy is brave and clients can heal and transform their lives.
