Karen Levine is a Licensed Professional Counselor based in Denver, Colorado. She focuses her private practice on working with early to mid-career professionals and young adults. Many of Karen’s clients come in with struggles adjusting to transitions in their lives, navigating work struggles, or problems with relationships. Karen is particularly passionate about helping women and working parents navigate the challenges of life stress. She also has advanced training in mental health first aid and healthcare compliance.
Karen is trained in several therapeutic approaches which have a basis in cognitive behavioral therapy. These approaches use emotions and thoughts to help identify specific behavior changes. In sessions, Karen focuses on listening carefully to help create a safe space, offers observations and feedback to help gain insight and teaches skills to help alleviate distress. This approach supports clients to feel more confident, find hope in the future, and increase courage to reach for their dream life.
Karen’s style is nurturing, supportive, and thoughtful. When a client first comes in the focus is on creating a safe and inviting environment to begin the work together. Karen is dedicated to providing a relationship that is honest and caring. And she is not afraid to offer a gentle nudge when needed.
Karen received her Master of Arts degree in Professional Counseling from Lindenwood University in St. Charles, Missouri. She gained experience in counseling at Aurora Mental Health Center in Aurora, Colorado which enables her to understand very difficult and complex problems. Outside of her private practice, she loves exploring new places, trying out new fashion trends, grabbing coffee with friends, is currently learning Spanish, and loves sharing time with her family.
