Professional statement

My name is Karen and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) and a Registered Play Therapist-Supervisor (RPT-S). I am also certified in Trauma Focused-Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT) and I am also a Certified Autism Specialist (CAS). I worked for the Orange County Health Care Agency for 20 years at Orangewood Children's Home and the Child Abuse Services Team (CAST) where we provided the forensic investigation of child abuse. I provide mental health services to children and adolescents and their families by using play, sand, and art to help clients express themselves in a trusting and safe environment. I am able to help my clients with a variety of issues and problems related to childhood abuse, trauma, bullying, and symptoms of anxiety and depression.

I am now in private practice in Newport Beach and have a wonderful playroom that my clients enjoy.

I also have experience working with adults with trauma and anxiety. This population needs someone who is empathic, understanding, and able to help them work through emotional challenges that they may not be able to discuss otherwise. I also work with adults who are having issues and challenges with their adult children.
