Karen 'Kay' McGee is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker based in Miami, practicing in the states of Florida and California.
Her clients are high-functioning, high-achieving professionals who are also out-of-the box thinkers (science minded leaders with a creative side, or creatives with a propensity for tech). Her clients often struggle to strike the most comfortable balance between their left and right brains. In addition clients may have undiagnosed ADHD, are living with untreated shame, unresolved grief, identity confusion, codependency and addiction as well as anger, anxiety and depression.
Kay helps clients explore parts of themselves that may have previously been inaccessible or not allowed. She teaches non-violent communication techniques to help her clients unlearn harmful self-talk and establish kind, compassionate internal dialogue as well as enhanced interpersonal communication skills. Utilizing various body-based techniques and meditation strategies, clients work with Kay to manage stress and find balance between the wide range of emotions that are inherently a part of the human experience. She is also a certified, trauma-informed yoga instructor and mindfulness teacher.
Kay's style is active, engaged, intuitive and nonjudgemental. Her practice philosophy is rooted in relationship.
Kay is committed to supporting the mental health and well-being of the LGBTQIA+ community as well as to the philanthropic support of organizations and causes that promote the public good, ie: racial, economic and social justice.
