After 40 years in practice, Kate considers herself a midwife helping you birth your authentic self. She brings many years of experience helping her clients work through trauma, anxiety, depression, relationship issues, and death and loss. She has particular experience helping military veterans and their family members and co-developed the Soldier’s Heart Model of veteran healing.
Kate focuses on the whole person, acknowledging that growth happens on many levels. Rather than just using psycho-babble, she listens deeply to understand her clients’ experiences, helps them create goals for therapy and guides them to their more authentic selves. She will explore how your life experiences have shaped you to be in the world, and how to create new possibilities for the future. Her clients tell her that they like how personable and easy to talk to she is and that they appreciate her down to earth nature.
Kate Dahlstedt MA is a graduate of the Hartford Family Institute as well as William Lyon University. In addition to maintaining her private psychotherapy practice, she has experience in Rape Crisis, Hospice, college counseling and most recently was the Co-founder and Program Director of Soldier’s Heart, a veteran’s healing initiative.
