Katie Gilly is a LMFT in Colorado, Illinois, Washington and Wisconsin. She works with individuals and many romantic relationship dynamics. Many of Katie’s clients come in to address difficulty managing anxiety and emotional disconnection. Clients also seek out assistance when experiencing desire discrepancy between partners. Katie is particularly passionate about serving couples who want to improve their emotional and/or sexual intimacy as well as late diagnosed ADHD and Autistic individuals and couples. She has advanced training in Relationships and Sex Therapy.
Katie is trained in a variety of therapy modalities which she pieces together for every person that comes into her office. This allows each client to feel comfortable knowing that their time with her is specifically tailored to their needs. Katie uses the therapeutic relationship to examine patterns of interaction that impact daily life while also exploring new ways to strengthen connections with others. In session, Katie focuses on bringing awareness to the body through emotional experiences of each individual as a way to foster trust in oneself. The use of role play and/or enactment with couples provides a space to utilize the skills being learned in real time during sessions which often leads to more confidence in skills outside of sessions. This approach supports clients to feel seen, heard, understood and accepted for who they are.
Katie's style is authentic, warm and engaging. When clients first start therapy, her focus will be on establishing a strong relationship and a comfortable environment where clients feel safe and heard. Katie offers remote therapy sessions only.
Outside of therapy sessions, Katie enjoys hiking and camping in the mountains with her family, trying out new recipes, reading Suspense/Fantasy fiction books, and engaging in creative projects.
