Katie Virga is a Marriage and Family Therapist Associate based in Campbell, California who works with adults of all ages. Many of her clients are creatives and helpers who wisely learned from their past to focus on those around them, but in doing so lost touch with their own boundaries, self-worth, and emotion regulation abilities. Katie specializes in relationships, anxiety, self-esteem, and childhood trauma, and is particularly passionate about serving individuals who grew up in environments where addiction or emotional abuse/neglect was present. Katie has 4 years of clinical experience, is trained in attachment theory, and is completing intensive training in Internal Family Systems (IFS).
Katie's uses IFS and Psychodynamic Therapy in her clinical approach to help clients understand the needs underlying their behaviors and experience more adaptive ways of relating to oneself and others. In session, Katie supports clients in gaining insight and self-compassion, making space for difficult emotions, and getting in touch with their values and boundaries. This approach helps clients get unstuck from recurring behaviors and responses, experience healthy relationships, and create a more fulfilling life.
Katie's style integrates warmth, collaboration, empathy, and humor. When a client first comes in, Katie offers a safe, accepting place where clients feel heard and understood. Katie is dedicated to providing a relationship that promotes authenticity, self-exploration, and empowerment.
