Mental Health Counselor - Limited Permit, MHC-LPKatrina Goli is a Mental Health Counselor located in New York. She works with young adults to those in mid-life who find themselves wrestling with patterns relating to identity and sense of self, relationships, careers, and sense of direction, meaning, and purpose. These patterns can cause great suffering – shame, low self-worth, identity confusion, fear of intimacy and vulnerability, difficulty setting healthy boundaries, perfectionism, unhealthy coping strategies, self-sabotage, unmanageable feelings, and feeling lost and sometimes hopeless. By recognizing these patterns – some of which clients might not yet even be aware of – and understanding why they have been necessary, clients can be liberated from them and empowered to heal and change.
Katrina specializes in exploring childhood and later-life trauma including abuse, neglect, having lived with primary caretakers struggling with mental health, or losing them through death, separation or divorce. Together, Katrina explores with clients how their lived experience of those events can still show up and affect the present moment.
Katrina utilizes several modalities to respond to the unique circumstances of each client. She approaches counseling from a holistic perspective – clients’ physical, emotional, social, and spiritual wellbeing are all essential. Katrina believes the healing journey includes being curious about and integrating wounded, painful, and helpful parts so clients can start to live their authentic lives from that coherent and meaningful place.
