Professional statement

Kayla Schubert-Wirth believes that any strong therapeutic relationship is built on collaboration, honesty, and the belief that change is possible. Her work is rooted in shared humor, truth without judgment, a holistic approach with the mind/body connection, and building on individual strengths. She is trained in EMDR and will be certified by March 2022.

Sometimes traumatic childhood experiences can cause long-term anxiety and even PTSD. Having suffered from some of her own trauma as a child, Kayla knew she needed to heal herself first before she could effectively help others. And it is from this place that she has a genuine desire to help others who are trying to recover from difficult life circumstances.

Kayla knows how difficult it can be to find a therapist you can connect with. She is not your “typical therapist” -- she dyes her hair bright colors, will curse with you during sessions, and actively competes in powerlifting.
