Kendra Capalbo is a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker and expert couples counselor. Kendra offers the convenience of online sessions to couples throughout Connecticut, Rhode Island, Massachusetts and New Hampshire.
Kendra's utilizes a combination of the Gottman Method and Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy. Her intake process includes an extensive assessment of a couple’s social history together, the history of their relationship, and their individual histories, which allows Kendra to get to the root of the relationship challenges. She uses this questionnaire, along with three therapy sessions (one as a couple and one with each partner) plus one feedback session, to develop an individualized treatment plan, which includes helping her clients learn how to deal with recurring conflicts in a healthy way.
Kendra offers a powerful and custom-tailored approach to disarm conflicting verbal communication, increase intimacy, respect, and affection, identify and break harmful relational cycles and create a better sense of empathy and understanding within the context of the relationship.
Kendra is certified as a Neurodiverse couples therapist and as such helps couples learn how the disparities in the way they process the world impacts their relationship and how to overcome those obstacles and identify the strengths that exist in their differences.
Kendra is passionate about couples counseling and believes all of her clients deserve to be in healthy, loving relationships. She looks forward to meeting you and helping you find your way back to each other.

Clients have had success using HSA / FSA cards as a form of payment. Other than in cases where one partner has been diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder, the way I code makes it unlikely that you will be reimbursed. If you want to check with your insurance company in advance, you will want to ask if they reimburse for treatment code 90847 (Family psychotherapy, conjoint psychotherapy with patient present) and diagnosis code Z63.0 (Problems in Relationship with Spouse or Partner). I am happy to explain my reasons for coding this way if you have any questions. If there is an ASD diagnosis, please contact me for more information as there is a greater chance that you will be at least partially reimbursed.
