Professional statement

Kennedy M. Sabelko is a master’s level Clinical Therapist with over 20 years of experience working in the mental health and educational field. Kennedy’s compassion for helping individuals achieve a better quality of life derives from his own personal and cultural experiences.

Kennedy’s focus is allowing individuals to recognize their irrational or negative thoughts/beliefs (Cognitive Distortions), and how their thoughts and beliefs impact emotions and subsequently behavior.

Kennedy provides coping strategies to decrease and manage negative thinking patterns through Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) while utilizing Cognitive Restructuring, and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) models. Kennedy’s goal in providing treatment is to allow individual to recognize that they can prevent anxiety and depressive symptoms by reconstructing their thoughts and perceptions of challenging events.

Message to clients

Hello folks, I hope we can form a therapeutic relationship in order for me to provide you with my clinical expertise and lifetime of experiences in order for you to improve the quality of your life in order for you to thrive!

Through Cognitive Restructuring, I can teach you the skills to prevent those negative anxiety-producing thoughts from ruminating out of control until you find yourself down that old familiar “rabbit hole” that we can’t get out of.

As a biracial adopted individual, who has experienced significant past trauma, I can certainly relate to ethnic identity and cultural related concerns from a Trauma-Informed lens.

But wait, there’s more! As part of the LGBTQI+ community, I can provide guidance and therapy to individuals who struggle with sexual or gender identity concerns.

Hope to see you soon!
