Professional statement

Ker Yang is a Licensed Marriage and Family therapist and licensed in California and Nevada. She has worked at Pathways under the STAY Process program in Orange County from 2016-2019 serving transitional aged youths who are struggling with severe mental illness and ran a trauma group.

Ker Yang is trained in emotionally-focused therapy, individuals and couples. She currently works with clients who are struggling with repeated unhealthy relationship dynamics, history of trauma (sexual, emotional and physical), currently in a life transition (break-up or existential crisis), fear of failure, living with an immense about of guilt/shame and intimacy issues especially with men. These are big problems to tackle on your own. Together, she will work with you to increase compassion for yourself, make clear of your wants/needs, remove barriers to achieving your wants/needs and live the life that makes you feel good.

Ker Yang has advance training in emotionally-focused therapy for couples and have completed the EFT Externship and the Core Skills Training and has received EFT individual and group supervision. She sees couples who are struggling with intimacy. The goal is to increase secure connection within your relationship by asking for you needs to be met.

The approach in session is humanistic which is connecting with you on a human level. You are the driver of your own treatment with support and guidance. Some sessions can be quite intense with big emotions and other times much lighter. What you can expect include empathy, asking evocative questions, reflecting and deepening emotions.

Message to clients

Healthy human relationships is one of the highest forms of love we can achieve. With your partner, best friend or parent next to you, anything is possible. It is an innate need to connect with other human beings in a healthy and accepting way in order to grow and flourish. However, life is not so perfect as it is filled with adversity, uncertainty and aloneness. How could you ever be expected to find your way in this scary world alone? Because we are all different with different needs and wants, there is no “perfect” roadmap on how to get where you need to be. I will help you navigate this scary world and find more love in whatever form that may be. Trust me, it will be a journey of a lifetime filled with fear, pain and joy. You will feel alive!

Therapy is about being compassionate towards yourself, being clear on your wants and needs and achieving your wants and needs without compromise. When was the last time you felt completely seen and understood for just being you? My therapy sessions is designed for you to be your authentic self. This is a place to celebrate you and sow the seeds of growth. Are you ready to stop the suffering?
