Kerry Higgins is a New York based holistic therapist serving clients virtually and in person in New York, Connecticut and Pennsylvania. She specializes in treating individuals struggling with anxiety, depression, disordered eating and big life changes such as starting or ending a relationship, relocation, beginning a new job or adjusting to life post graduation. Many of her clients report feeling overwhelmed, self aware and somehow stuck. Kerry helps her clients break cycles and create a fulfilling life in accordance with their desires. She aims to help her clients break patterns of worry, perfectionism, procrastination, relationship issues and codependency. She supports her client's with effectively reprocessing and creating an understanding of past trauma that might be causing distress, feelings of numbness, disconnection or low self esteem. Kerry's sessions are collaborative and interactive. She prioritizes the goals of her clients and has a deep understanding of what it means to be a client from her own personal experience.
As a therapist, her clients describe her as warm, empathetic and solution focused. Kerry's approach includes evidence based talk therapy and somatic trauma informed therapy. In her sessions she utilizes mindfulness based self compassion (MBSR), cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and offers eye movement desensitization reprocessing (EMDR). She understands that many individuals who have had years of talk therapy or tend to over think can benefit from a body focused approach like emdr.
Kerry is passionate about creating a safe and connected space for her clients to build insight into patterns that are no longer serving them and create changes that feel both relieving and exciting. Kerry aims to leave her clients feeling hopeful, equipped and confident.
