Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, LMFTHe/Him/His
Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, LMFTKevin Cornelius is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in Mountain View, California. He works with individuals and couples, ages 14 and older. Many of Kevin’s clients come in to address anxiety, depression, and relationship problems. Kevin is particularly passionate about serving members of the LGBTQ+ community, high school and college students, and recent graduates. He also has advanced training in helping people improve relationships, and in the high-speed treatment of anxiety disorders.
Kevin is trained in TEAM-CBT, in which you change the way you feel by changing the way you think. In session, Kevin focuses on teaching you the skills you need to become your own therapist and help yourself when negative feelings return. This approach supports clients to learn how to help themselves when they feel overwhelmed with anxiety or depression.
Kevin's style is supportive, empowering, and goal-oriented. When clients first start therapy, he will focus on learning what the client has been struggling with and providing empathy, understanding and support before inviting the client to work on changing the way they feel.
Kevin received his MA in Marriage and Family Therapy from Phillips Graduate Institute in Encino, CA. He has worked at Process Therapy Institute, where he completed the Advanced Process Therapist Certification program. Outside of private practice, he enjoys travel and spends most of his time parenting three young children.
