Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker, LICSW Licensed Clinical Social Worker, LCSWKevin Ott provides therapy for anxiety, panic attacks, or social anxiety. He offers online therapy for adults and is licensed as a clinical social worker in four states: California, New Hampshire, New York, and Vermont. Kevin has been a therapist since 2006. His clients seek ways to feel grounded, peaceful, and comfortable within themselves, both at work and at home.
Kevin's focus as an anxiety therapist is to provide clients with practical tools to use between therapy sessions to help them achieve results more quickly. The first toolset he uses is an evidence-based therapy modality called cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT). CBT teaches how to change thought patterns that underlie anxiety, including self-judgments and beliefs that affect interactions with other people. Through guided practice during sessions and homework assignments between sessions, clients learn to reinforce supportive thinking and productive behavior.
A second set of tools that Kevin utilizes is mindfulness. Mindfulness practices show clients how to cultivate inner peace and keep attention focused during challenging times. A third toolset that Kevin uses is communication skills. Practicing effective communication skills helps clients become more comfortable and successful with strangers, at work, and with family. Overall, Kevin's approach to anxiety focuses on reducing stress, building strong relationships, and achieving professional goals.
Prior to becoming a therapist, Kevin earned a doctorate of jurisprudence and a masters degree in education. As an adjunct professor, he has taught courses in interpersonal communication and meditation. When not working, Kevin enjoys spending time with his wife and daughter and learning about health and wellness. He provides a free consultation call to ensure a good fit.
